The Baker Family! Date: 2008-05-11 23:05:29 I just returned from one of the most beautiful memorial services I have ever seen for Cori Baker. I was so glad to see everyone there that had been around during the search I was on for Cori, and to meet all the others I had not met. Danny, G-MA, Tyson, Courtney, Casey and all of the rest of the family were amazingly brave and beautiful! I was so moved by their love for Cori and the most awesome memorial that they put together. I was a little scared to go back to Tulsa, I must say. The controversy a person in my line of work experiences can be quite critical and overwhelming. This was certainly not the case for me with the Baker's or the communion of people that surrounded this unfortunate event. As Brett and I were leaving Tulsa we got a call from another family that had also had a loss and we went to see them. They will remain anonymous for the moment. But the experience that we all shared was amazingly beautiful and healing. There is so much tragedy surrounding the death of loved one especially in a murder case. My heart hurts for each and everyone who has to go through an experience like this. It was ironic to get home and get a concerned phone call from a law enforcement that my methods of investigation might de-rail an investigation. In each case I work, even cases where I have literally stepped on a missing person, I go through the scrutiny of everyone, even the law enforcement that I have worked with. So I thought it appropriate to explain that I do not involve myself in cases unless called by law enforcement or family and do not ever try to stand in the way of what law enforcement does. I practice a different way of finding people, but our objective is the same. At least for me, I can say the only objective is to bring peace to those left behind. As new projects approach and work continues with the lost or missing or healing or those who have passed on, I can only hope that our world can become more accepting and loving with those of us who work with the other side. Trust me on this, if you were me, you would humbly ask that before you tear me down, and drag me through the mud literally, that you take a step back and ask or draw upon your faith and try your best, as I do, to stay out of judgment. It might be too much to ask, but something inside me tells me that is not. And one last note on that, if you see me in the media, for any case and don't believe I am helping, then please feel free to volunteer your time as I do and come out for a search if even just to prove me wrong. I would love and appreciate and respect that, and I am sure the families of those who are missing or past would be delighted to have the extra hands and hope. Despite all obstacles in my life with who, what and where I am, I won't or should say could not ever be anyone different than I am. And I will never stop using this gift that has helped thousands. And to flip that around, every person I have helped, in some deep way you have all helped me in my life's progress with my gift. Thank You! In closing, because Lord knows I don't blog much, (I try) I know I will be sleeping as a baby does tonight and I hope you all can rest deeply as well. Our world is a bit chaotic and frantic but when examined a bit closer.....very beautiful and full of amazing surprises. What is a blog? Date: 2008-04-27 22:49:44 I haven't blogged in sooooooo long now, I don't even know where to begin. I have been very busy and that is probably an understatement and quite redundant at this point. I have been traveling quite a bit for work, including murder and missing cases, speaking engagements, healing weekends, and empathic private investigations. It has been healing and tiring, but rewarding. I have come in contact with some of the most positive and beautiful people in this process and feel that I have had many wonderful adventures. Although some of the cases I have worked recently have literally torn families apart emotionally, all except one have had finality. It has been great to be a part of the closure and humbling to be part of the process. I leave for Africa in two days and I am really looking forward to the trip. A friend and I will be traveling to an orphanage to help out for a few days and I can not wait to see how they put us to work!! So what is a blog? Is a blog where I sit here and type out the stories of my life, or a chance to share a little love with everyone who continues to be in my life in whatever capacity? Because I honestly could go on about this case, this lecture, how busy I am, etc; but what it really comes down to for me is just one big THANK YOU to everyone who brightens my day, year, life! So although I could complain about negative press or stupendous new happenings....I won't. I just want to say I love you, my brothers and sisters and call it a blog! Statement from "The Baker Family" concerning Jeff Baker! Date: 2008-03-26 21:07:15 After many months of praying and searching for our beloved Cori, we became tired and weary. We had received aid from two Search and Recovery Teams out of Texas and still no Cori. After much prayer and meditation, we asked ourselves, how to proceed. At that time we heard about Jeff Baker, who was working on a six year old murder case in Woodward, Oklahoma. In desperation we contacted Jeff, and he called us back in a few hours. Within days Jeff was in Tulsa, with complete openness and willingness to help at no charge. Jeff's ability to do mediation with Cori was amazing and very real. Although communicating with someone who is on the other side is very difficult and physically tiring for both Jeff and the deceased, he and Cori were able to communicate reagarding her approximate whereabouts. Cori was also able to let us know that she was ok and that she loved us very much. Jeff is an amazing man, full of Love and Compassion. His genuine concern and connection to our hurt and grief often brought tears to his eyes during our times of great sadness. He was here to help us search and to use his abilities to give us direction. During his time with us he uncovered many clues that would lead us closer to Cori. Jeff is also a gifted spiritual counselor as well. He has spent time with several members of our family and helped them gain a greater understanding about the grief they are facing.
